Kiwanis Holiday Poinsettia Sale Is On

The Fairfield Kiwanis Club is holding its annual holiday Poinsettia sale, with pickups on Saturday, Nov. 28 and Saturday, Dec. 12 from 8 am to 11 am at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road in Fairfield (across from Bob's Store).

They're offering large, florist-quality triple plants in 8" foil wrapped pots, in red, white or pink. All plants are $25.00 each. Free delivery is available in the Fairfield area with the purchase of 5 plants or more.

The order form is available for download from the Kiwanis Club's web site, www.fairfieldkiwanis.org.

Return of the Fairfield Street Banners

For the second year running, the Chamber is getting ready to hoist banners along the Post Road. The design is new but the message is the same: Support local business.

Simple, direct and to the point. And to pound it home we'll be hauling on the ropes until we have enough canvas to launch a flotilla through the center of town.

You can sail with our merchant fleet by sponsoring a banner. Just like last year, there's a hefty discount on additional banners — half price! — but this time around they'll be hanging from the lamp posts for three months, January through March, 2010.

UPDATED: All new for 2010, we'll be displaying a photo of each banner on our home page. The photos will run all year long, and how much time each banner spends on the home page depends on how many of them we have. Sponsors with multiple banners will get more time online.

Once again American SIGNS & Designs is producing the banners, which were designed by Night & Day Media.

Complete technical requirements for logo artwork

With the wind at our back and a new year just over the horizon, the 2010 Street Banner Program is preparing to get underway.

Fairfield at 30,000 Feet

The December 2009 issue of US Airways Magazine will include a big feature on lower Fairfield County, giving us a rare opportunity to showcase our community's many assets to a national and international audience.

The Fairfield Chamber (along with the Westport, Norwalk, Stamford and Greater Valley chambers, the BRBC and the Coastal Fairfield County Convention & Visitors Bureau) is collaborating with the US Airways editorial and sales staff to make the most of it. "Profile: Fairfield County" is expected to run 28–34 pages.

US Airways operates more than 4,300 daily flights to 235 cities in 36 countries, and its magazine is read by more than 5.8 million passengers each month.

If the magazine's editorial or marketing staff contacts you, we ask that you please assist them in telling our community's story.
