Two Guest Speakers Lined Up for November
The Chamber is mixing business and food (always a good idea) at two November events you won't want to miss.
First up is an 8 am breakfast seminar with business strategist Marjorie Barnes on Tuesday, Nov. 16. Learn how to "Stand Out From the Crowd and Brand Yourself!" over a continental breakfast at Bravo (fomerly Roosters Restaurant). This is the first in a new series of educational seminars presented by the Chamber. The cost is only $15 for members ($20 for non-members), so what are you waiting for? Reserve your place today.
Then we have a luncheon with David Neeleman, CEO and founder of JetBlue Airways. A joint presentation of the Fairfield, Darien and Westport chambers, the event happens at noon on Friday, Nov. 19 at the Shorehaven Country Club in East Norwalk. Share a lunch with the man who launched a hot new airline when everyone else said it couldn't be done, all for just $40 per person. Choose Filet of Sole Nicoise, Sauteed Chicken Toscano or Petite Filet Mignon as your entree, and call the Chamber office at 255-1011 for reservations.
And speaking of speakers, we've landed Bridgeport Bluefish owner Mickey Herbert for our Annual Meeting on June 8, 2005. (Patricia likes to get these things out of the way well in advance.) Mark your calendar -- now!Be sure to visit the Events Calendar for more info on these and other great Chamber events, like the November Business After Hours at Fairfield University.
Look for two of the most popular Chamber publications to hit the streets early in 2005.
We're well on track to launch the latest Membership Directory & Resource Guide in January this time around. Thanks go out to everyone who took the time to update their member information, as we'll be sending the final list to MKDesign in mid-October.
The Shopping, Dining & Entertainment Guide will follow in February, with a new index that makes it easier for newcomers to find what they're looking for. Together with the Town Map (and the web site you're holding in your virtual hands), this is how we put our members' names in front of people all over Fairfield, all year long.
New Small-Business Expo a Big Hit
The Double-Chamber Business Expo we staged along with the Westport Chamber Oct. 4 exceeded all expectations.
With approximately 40 exhibitors on hand and more than 135 business people in attendance, this combined Business After Hours and tabletop expo was a roaring success. The event fills a need for small businesses who can't afford the cost or time commitment of the bigger spring expos, and the more intimate setting of the Westport Inn lent itself well to networking. We're hoping to do it all over again next year.
